2018-09-12
The III International Poultry Course will be held on October 20 and 21 in Lima (Peru). The training is aimed for students of Veterinary Medicine, Zootechnics and professionals of the poultry industry, interested in expanding their knowledge in the sector. Among other topics, the following will be addressed: poultry biosecurity, pathologies and necropsies. The course is organized by the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences of the Scientific University of the South (Scientific) and Biovet S.A., with the sponsorship of “Adivet”, “Alquermes de México” and “Veterinaria Digital.”
The course has been divided into five sessions that will address from avian immunology and biosecurity to the necropsies, through rural poultry and ecology. “Anatomophysiological factors in birds related to immunity”, “International experiences of “criolla” bird breeding and importance of food security” or “Prevalent diseases in poultry farms of the Peruvian coast. Control and prevention”, among others, are the topics that will be addressed during the training sessions.
Among the professors of the course, are: Dr. Anna Tesouro (Biovet SA), Dr., Cristina Latasa (Recombina), the researcher Connie Gallardo (Scientist), Dr. Hugo Patiño (Adivet), Dr. Jaime Borrell ( Biovet SA) and Fernando Castro, of FAO (Organization of the United Nations for Food and Agriculture) or Med. Vet. Liliana Rebolledo (University of Sao Paulo).
This course is the result of the agreement that UCSUR and Biovet S.A signed in 2016 to collaborate in scientific research and teaching related to animal nutrition. Within this agreement in 2017 four graduation theses were carried out in the experimental farm built “exprofeso”, by students. The objective of all the studies is to evaluate the improvement of intestinal welfare by incorporating pronutrients (natural extracts of plants) into the feed that are used in animal production.
