Technical visits in Malaysia and Myanmar

In November, a commercial and technical team of Biovet S.A. visited Malaysia and Myanmar to meet the distributors and main customers of the poultry sector. Natural products intended for the control of coccidia, mycotoxicosis and fungal contamination, more prevalent in humid climates, were the most prominent products during the meetings.

Dr. Maria Soriano, veterinarian of the technical and commercial team of Biovet S.A., travelled to the Southeast Asia to present the natural products which may be useful in humid climates and rainy season. Both countries are characterized for their tropical climate. Malaysia, with a humid tropical climate, has a rainy season from November till February. Myanmar, with a tropical monsoon climate, has between December and March the period with lower humidity and temperatures of the year.

The rains and warm temperatures increase humidity and the risk of fungus and bacteria proliferation in feed. Furthermore, the litter can be also affected by excess of moisture and facilitate the appearance of diseases such as coccidia.

Natural products to prevent the appearance of coccidia and bacteria

In this context, Alquernat Zycox, an intestinal optimizer indicated to control coccidia, was presented. The product contains pronutrients that optimize the intestinal mucosa, which normalizes the activity of the local immune system of the gastrointestinal tract. The immune system is then capable of breaking the reproductive cycle of coccidia.

On the other hand, the natural preservative, with bactericide and fungicide activity on raw materials and feed, was also recommended. It also works as intestinal biocide to promote the balance of the intestinal flora, to avoid growing of Salmonella, E. coli, Clostridium and Staphylococcus.

Alquerfeed Antitox for the mycotoxins

The appearance of fungi in the feed due to high humidity values can lead to the proliferation of mycotoxins and contaminate the feed of the animals. For the control of toxins, the use of Alquerfeed Antitox was recommended.

It is a mycotoxin binder based on Silicoglycidol (patented molecule). Mycotoxins go through the intestinal tract without causing irritation in the intestinal walls (enteritis) and without being absorbed (mycotoxicosis). It is effective at low dose (0.5 g/kg) and does not adsorb to its structure other products like vitamins, enzymes, aminoacids or drugs.

Finally, Alquernat Nebsui, a product based on intestinal conditioners pronutrients, which can replace growth-promoting antibiotics was also introduced.
