The use of these natural products to promote animal welfare in pigs was presented in several exhibitions

In March, Biovet S.A. participated in several commercial and technical activities in Mexico to promote the use of pronutrients in pig production to improve animal welfare.

Specifically, Dr. Germán Bertsch gave a conference on March 16, 2021 at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (Mexico) where the benefits of pronutrients in pigs were explained. In addition, from March 23 to 26, Biovet S.A. participated with a virtual booth in the XXVII Virtual Congress of AMVECAJ.

Pronutrients to improve intestinal welfare and production parameters in pig production

On March 16 and 17 the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) organized an online workshop entitled ‘Diagnosis of diseases, nutrition and management of pigs’. Biovet S.A., in collaboration with the distributor Proinsavet, participated in the training with the conference ‘Use of pronutrients to improve intestinal welfare and production parameters in pigs’.

In the videoconference, Dr. Germán Bertsch, veterinarian of Biovet S.A., detailed the benefits of using natural conditioner pronutrients (Alquernat Nebsui) in pig production. In the case of Alquernat Nebsui, pronutrients improve cellular functionality of the intestine preventing the formation of an aged intestinal surface and the adhesion of bacteria on the layer of old enterocytes. In the conference several in vivo trials which demonstrate the effectiveness of Alquernat Nebsui to promote intestinal integrity in pigs were presented. For example, the product proved to be a safe bet to replace zinc oxide, as it achieved a reduction of 42% in the diarrhea ratio, while daily weight gain (DWG) was increased by 17% compared to zinc oxide group.

In addition, Dr. Bertsch also presented other trial that showed the effectiveness of Alquernat Nebsui to improve production parameters.
