Biovet S.A. Conference on intestinal integrity
Dr. David Diez, veterinarian of Biovet S.A., presented a conference within the program of the XXXII National Poultry Congress of Panama on November 17, entitled “Prevention of intestinal integrity alterations“.
The first part of the lecture introduced the importance of intestinal integrity, intestinal welfare, and the importance of microbiota in digestive physiology. The conference demonstrated how the structures of the intestinal villi are formed and the role of the cells that compose them. Then, the lecture addressed the physiology of intestinal epithelial regeneration and the different factors involved in this process, as well as the key role of tight junctions between enterocytes.
Subsequently, Dr. Diez enumerated the different factors that alter the intestinal epithelium and the consequences that this imbalance entails, such as malabsorption, diarrhea, low productive performance, immunodeficiency, septicemia, among others.
Thus, the conference addressed two main axes on the prevention of intestinal alterations of intestinal integrity:
The first axis was related to the control of microorganisms that can affect the intestinal epithelium, through a natural microbicide composed of cimenol ring and citric acid, marketed under the name Alquermold Natural and developed by Biovet S.A. The mechanisms of action of this control were explained in the conference, as well as the results of laboratory and field tests carried out in 2021.
The second axis presented at the conference was on the prevention of intestinal alterations through the enhancement of intestinal physiology with the use of intestinal conditioners pronutrients. Thus, the mechanisms of these pronutrients on intestinal physiology and their optimization were addressed. In this way, it was demonstrated how intestinal integrity improves, which translates into lower treatment and feeding costs.
Biovet S.A. had a stand at the XXXII National Poultry Congress in Panama
On November 17 began the XXXII National Poultry Congress of Panama in a virtual format, in which Biovet S.A. had a stand. In this space, Biovet shared information about its products such as Alquernat Inmuplus, a natural product based on immunostimulant pronutrients. Also available was the infographic about Alquernat Nebsui, a product based on intestinal conditioners pronutrients that improve productive performance.
Other products present at Biovet S.A.’s booth at the XXXII National Poultry Congress were Alquernat Zycox, which contains intestinal optimizer pronutrients that contribute to the prevention of avian coccidiosis. Also included were Alquerfeed Ovoponedoras, which improves eggshell quality; Alquermold Natural, a natural preservative for feed; and finally, Alquerfeed Antitox, an efficient mycotoxin binder.
On the other hand, Biovet S.A. presented the services of Global Vet’s Lab, such as Mycotox-Lab a mycotoxin analysis service and calculator of Silicoglycidol dose; Diagnovet, a service of diagnostic of images and clinical advice; Optifeed, which is a feed formulation service; and finally, Fungi-Lab, a service of microbiological analysis of feed to evaluate contamination by fungi, as well as to calculate the dose of preservatives required.
