One more year, Biovet S.A. will participate at the ‘14th Turkey Science and Production Conference’ Turkey Times to be held from 4 to 6 March in Carden Park Hotel and Golf Resort in Chester (UK).
This time, Dr. Júlia Pié, veterinarian of Biovet S.A., will give a lecture entitled ‘Protozoan diseases in turkeys: prevention and treatment’ scheduled on Friday 6th March at 11:10h.
Protozoan parasites are of great concern in poultry production, as they cause serious production losses and there is no effective “conventional” drugs that help solving the issue. Recent studies show that pronutrients, active molecules from plant extracts, are an effective alternative to prevent and treat some of these infestations in turkeys, as they naturally improve the status of the gut mucosa and the immunity of birds.
Specifically, the conference will explain the efficacy of intestinal optimizers and conditioners pronutrients, marketed under the name Alquernat Coneb, in the production of turkeys. This product stimulates the regeneration of the digestive mucosa and makes sure the local immune system in the gut is working properly.
Thanks to the double mechanism of action, the animal’s digestive system is protected against protozoan infestations such as histomoniasis, cochlososmiasis, trichosomiasis or coccidiosis.
The 14th conference of the new series 2020 aims to provide an opportunity for members of the European turkey industry, suppliers and ancilliary bodies to update on the latest scientific developments and production trends. According to its organizers, Turkey Times is also a platform where representatives and delegates of this industry can establish bonds, “discuss existing business and explore possible new opportunities”.
