The trip was completed with a conference on Salmonella and avian infectious toxic hepatoenteritis
During the month of July, a technical-commercial team of Biovet S.A. traveled to Thailand to visit some of the most important poultry companies and feedmills in the country. While there, they visited farms and made necropsies that allowed to detect the main problems that affect birds and offered solutions to prevent them. In addition, a conference about the problem of Salmonella and avian infectious toxic hepatoenteritis in the poultry industry and its prevention mechanisms was held.
Technical visits and farm necropsies
During the trip, Dr. David Díez, veterinarian of Biovet S.A., visited the major poultry integrations of the country where he had the opportunity to perform several necropsies on broiler farms. Important lesions were detected in the oviduct and kidneys compatible with an outbreak of Infectious Bronchitis, a fact that denotes that animals have low protection against this disease.
In this regard, the use of the natural immunostimulant, Alquernat Immuplus, and intestinal conditioners pronutrients with Alquernat Nebsui was recommended. On one hand, Alquernat Immuplus strengthens the immune system of animals and increases the antibody titer when administered in association with vaccination. On the other hand, the administration of Alquernat Nebsui improves the absorption of nutrients by enhancing the nutritional status of animals, which is related to the immune system.
Apart from farm visits, Dr. Díez also visited feed mills where the importance of feed preservation was emphasized. In this regard, the use of the natural preservativeAlquermold Natural was recommended. It is an additive made from plant extracts that acts as a bactericide and fungicide in feed. It prevents the deterioration of feed and the appearance of infectious diseases. Furthermore, it can also be used as an intestinal biocide to eliminate pathogenic microorganisms found in the intestine such as Salmonella, E.coli, Clostridium, Staphylococcus or Aspergillus.
Conference on Salmonella and Avian Infectious Toxic Hepatoenteritis
On the Thai tour, Dr. Díez also held a conference in Bangkok attended by veterinarians and distributor’s technical staff. During the talk, the problem of Salmonella was addressed. It is one of the main causative agents of avian infectious toxic hepatoentritis, which causes important losses both in the production of eggs and in broiler production.
