Effect of Alquernat Immuplus in broilers after vaccination against Newcastle virus (NDV)
Effect of Alquernat Immuplus in broilers after vaccination against Newcastle virus (NDV)
2019-05-29
This trial, performed in Romania, had the aim to assess the effectivity of a natural liquid product, rich in immunostimulant pronutrients, by the evaluation of the productive parameters and the antibody titters in Ross broilers after vaccination against Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV).
Trial design
187.680 animals were distributed in 10 facilities. Each farm had approximately 18600 animals. The trial was conducted from day 1 of age until sacrifice (day 38).
Animals were separated into 2 groups:
Control group – without immunostimulants (7 farms, 131480 animals).
Immunostimulant group – with the natural immunostimulant (3 farms, 56200 animals).
The natural product rich in immunostimulant pronutrients was administered in drinking water at a dosage of 1 ml/l from day 1 to 10 and at a dosage of 0.5 ml/l from day 11 to 20.
Animals were vaccinated against Newcastle disease virus (NDV) at day 10 and 23 of life with La Sota strain. In order to compare both batches immunity, blood samples of 18 animals per farm were taken and antibody titters for the disease were evaluated on day 38. In addition, productive parameters, like mortality, FCR and body weight were also assessed in a weekly basis.

Conclusions
Thanks to the administration of this natural immunostimulant, broilers obtained better productive parameters, showing 3.34% more weight, 1.19% lower FCR and a reduction of 15.7% in mortality, which means that the product was able to enhance the general immunity of the animals.
Furthermore, mean antibody titers against NDV were 36.20% higher in the batch using the immunostimulant at the end of the production period, which means that this natural product is able to increase vaccination efficacy.
This natural product rich in immunostimulant pronutrients is commercially available under the name of Alquernat Immuplus.
