Biovet will hold its 32nd International Symposium in May in Tarragona

32nd Biovet International Symposium. May 27-28, Tarragona, Spain

The Chamber of Commerce of Tarragona, Spain, will host the 32nd Biovet International Symposium on May the 27th and 28th 2019.

The latest developments in natural additives for animal health and nutrition are expected to be presented in the annual gathering. Information about the use of applications of these products will be put in context through results obtained in in vitro and in vivo tests. This year, Biovet symposium will consist of 4 sessions.

First day sessions

The opening session is scheduled on Monday May the 27th and will focus on aquaculture. More specifically, on the use of immunostimulant pronutrients with Nile tilapia fingerlings subjected to stress. The data shown in the conference have been obtained from studies carried out in collaboration with the Universidad Científica del Sur in Lima (UCSUR) and the Universidad Nacional de Callao (UNAC), both from Peru.

The second session will show the applications of pronutrients present in products commercialized by Biovet. Its optimizing effects in animal physiology will be contrasted with data extracted from tests carried out against some of the most common pathologies in animal production.

Specifically, the results obtained in a test with the intestinal regulator Alquernat Yucca, which also acts as a deodorizer, will be shown. In addition, other experimental results will be presented, such as the one testing the effect of the natural preservative Alquermold Natural on Clostridium perfringens, and its beneficial effects on animal health against necrotic enteritis when combined with intestinal-optimizing pronutrients, such as Alquernat Zycox.

Second day sessions

The third session will take place on Tuesday May the 28th and will focus on multifunctional additives, which are present in Biovet’s  Alquermix product range. As its name suggests, these additives have been designed to generate multiple optimizing effects on animal physiology. On this occasion, its uses and specifications will be shown through results obtained  in a test with broilers.

As it has been usual in previous editions, the closing session will revolve around the 12 most important pathologies affecting specific productive sectors worldwide. 2019’s edition will put the focus on the most common diseases found in avian and swine sectors in recent months. In addition, most important animal diseases affecting public health and the latest developments in the management of industrial, rural and ecologic poultry farms will also be discussed.

Outreach commitment

Biovet’s corporate values are committed to the dissemination and pedagogy of the latest advances obtained by its Research & Development Department concerning products designed to improve animal nutrition and health. For that reason, Biovet S.A. laboratories organize a minimum of two international events every year in countries where it commercializes its products.
