Biovet conducts technical visits and training sessions in Peru focused on avian intestinal and hepatic health
During the week of 12 May 2025, Biovet S.A. carried out a series of technical visits and training sessions in Peru, together with its local distributor, aimed at poultry producers from various regions of the country.

The training sessions had a particular focus on poultry necropsies, highlighting the importance of evaluating intestinal and hepatic physiology. Throughout these sessions, Biovet’s experts identified and analysed key factors affecting gut health, including mycotoxins, microbial challenges, protozoan infestations, and accelerated intestinal transit. They also explored in depth the factors that can impair liver function, such as excessive use of pharmaceuticals, unbalanced diets, and an overload of chemical substances in animal feed.
To address these challenges, the technical team presented several technologies developed by Biovet S.A., with special emphasis on Alquerfeed Antitox, the line of pronutrients (Alquernat Livol, Alquernat Nebsui, and Alquernat Zycox), Alquermold Natural Plus, and Alquerfeed Diatom.
In the practical sessions, necropsies were performed on broiler chickens from day one of life through to slaughter age, allowing for a comprehensive assessment of initial microbiological quality and overall health status during growth. These evaluations paid particular attention to key organs such as the liver, intestines, and respiratory system, highlighting practical measures to prevent microbial and protozoan diseases, especially coccidiosis.
The technical visits enabled the Biovet team to address the specific concerns of Peruvian producers first-hand, with recurring issues related to mycotoxicosis and liver problems being particularly noteworthy in poultry farms.
Biovet S.A. appreciates the active participation of the producers and reaffirms its commitment to providing practical and effective solutions to improve poultry health and performance.
