Biovet S.A. strengthens technical collaboration in Nicaragua

As part of the 2025 Technical Stimulus Project, Biovet S.A. conducted a technical and commercial visit to Nicaragua aimed at enhancing distributor and customer training, and gaining direct insights into local production conditions.

The agenda included meetings with pig and poultry producers, as well as feed manufacturers in various regions. Key topics included animal nutrition, health, facility technologies, and new regulations, particularly restrictions on the use of antibiotics and synthetic drugs.

In response, local producers are improving management systems, biosecurity, and adopting natural additives to address endemic diseases and adapt to harsh weather, especially during the upcoming rainy season.

Nicaragua currently benefits from access to Biovet S.A.’s main lines of natural additives, developed to enhance animal health and reduce reliance on chemical synthesis.

  • Alquerfeed Antitox and Alquerfeed Binmold, from the ALQUERFEED line, are mycotoxin binders designed to mitigate the risks associated with toxic fungal metabolites in feed ingredients.
  • Alquermold Natural Plus, part of the ALQUERMOLD line, is a natural preservative with strong microbicidal properties. It acts both in the feed and within the digestive tract, supporting the regeneration of the intestinal epithelium.
  • The ALQUERNAT line offers natural solutions such as Alquernat Nebsui, a growth promoter that acts on the gut microbiota, and Alquernat Zycox, a natural additive with coccidicidal effect.

This visit reaffirms Biovet S.A.’s commitment to the technical development of the livestock sector in Central America, supporting more efficient and sustainable production systems.
