Use of intestinal conditioner pronutrients to improve the absorption of the vitamin from the diet.
2018-02-13
In vitro trial carried out in 2018 with vitamins B12, B1, E, A and D3.
Introduction:
In an in vitro trial carried out in January 2018, the ability to promote the absorption of different vitaminsincluded in the diet of a product based on pronutrients that act as conditioners of the intestinal mucosa was analyzed.
Material and methods:
The assay was performed in nine 6-well plates where 1.2×105 cells/ml were added in a 3ml volume per well.
After four days of growth, confluence was reached and culture medium was substituted and supplemented with Alquernat Nebsui (1:10.000 and 1:5000) in six plates, while other three were used as untreated negative controls.
After 60 minutes of exposure to intestinal conditioner, medium was removed and HBSS medium (3 wells/plate) or HBSS supplemented with Vitamin B1, B12, A, E or D3, 5 microM (3 wells/plate) was added.
After 90 minutes, cells were washed, lysed and intracellular concentration of vitamin was measured by a colorimetric assay method.
Results:
Intestinal conditioner pronutrients increase the exogenous absorption of water and fat-soluble vitamins in the intestinal epithelial cells:
Vitamin B12
As shown in the graphs, there was a 30% increase in the exogenous absorption of Vitamin B12.
Vitamin B1
Likewise, there was a 56% increase in the exogenous absorption of vitamin B1.
Vitamina E
The exogenous absorption of vitamin E was also increased by 39%.
Vitamin A
The exogenous absorption of vitamin A was 43%.
Vitamin D3
In addition, the exogenous absorption of vitamin D3 was increased by 15%.
Conclusions:
Intestinal conditioner pronutrients allow lower inclusion rates of these water and fat-soluble vitamins in animal feed (vitamin B1, B12, A, E and D3), with the consequent cost reduction. It is an important factor considering the high costs of vitamins in the current market.

After years of research, the company specializing in the manufacture of additives, Biovet S.A.,has selected intestinal conditioners that optimize the structure of the intestinal mucosa and stimulate the regeneration of the intestinal cells, increasing their functionality and efficiency.
In such a way that they improve the physiological state of the intestinal mucosa, increasing the absorption of both water and fat-soluble vitamins, as well as controlling the growth of intestinal pathogens and improving the absorption of the nutrients in the diet.
Intestinal conditioner pronutrients are commercialized as the product ALQUERNAT NEBSUI, of Biovet S.A.
