Effect of Alquernat Nebsui, pronutrients intestinal conditioners, in pigs at the end of the fattening stage
The purpose of this trial, performed in Colombia, was to assess the effect of removing antibiotic growth promoters in pigs during the withdrawal period (30 days) at the end of the fattening stage and replacing them by Alquernat Nebsui, intestinal conditioner pronutrients.
EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN
Data was obtained from a total of 134.956 pigs, separated into two batches:
– TREATMENT BATCH (49.439 animals): Fed with basal diet and an intestinal conditioner at a dose of 0,5 kg/Tn.
– CONTROL BATCH (85.517): Fed only with basal diet.
RESULTS
Batch treated with intestinal conditioner pronutrients had reduced feed intake, obtaining a higher final weight, which improved the conversion rate regarding to the control batch. Mortality was also slightly reduced in the treated batch.

Chart 2 (right): Differences between productive parameters between batches per 1.000 pigs (red color).
CONCLUSIONS
The intestinal conditioner pronutrients allowed to improve productive parameters thanks to a better intestinal health, which increased the use of feed and enhanced the intestinal epithelium defensive barrier to control the growth of enteric pathogens.
This product, based on intestinal conditioner pronutrients, is commercially available under the name of Alquernat Nebsui.
