Conference on Alquernat Zycox at the Gut Health Symposium

On Tuesday, November 6th, Biovet S.A. will present the results of the trial ‘Use of Alquernat Zycox as an effective manner to control induced coccidiosis in poultry’. The conference will be held within the framework of the Gut Health Symposium that will be conducted  from November 5 to 7 in St. Louis, Missouri.

The conference will be led by Dr. Wakadur Rahman, who will explain the results of the trial focused on the use of Alquernat Zycox to prevent coccidiosis in broilers infested with Eimeria tenella. Specifically, 3 batches were compared, all of them infested: control batch, batch with Alquernat Zycox, intestinal optimizers pronutrients, and batch with coccidiostats.

The results of the study showed that, on the productive parameters, Alquernat Zycox has better conversion rate and presents lower mortality. In addition, intestinal optimizers pronutrients prevent mores serious injuries and it was observed a faster recovery on the animals. The counting of oocysts was also lower with the use of Alquernat Zycox during all the trial.

In conclusion, Alquernat Zycox, available in powder premix and oral solution, is presented “as an effective product to prevent coccidiosis”, says the research. This product contains pronutrients which optimize the intestinal mucosa and stimulate the local immune system of the digestive tract. Then, the immunes system is able to break the reproductive cycle of the coccidia and eliminate them from the enterocytes so that they can’t cause bigger damage in the mucosa. In fish, it is effective against protozoan infections.

Biovet S.A. will present this study at Gut Health Symposium. This symposium is dedicated to animal welfare in animal production and especially in the essential role played by the intestine.
