During the months of July and August, Biovet S.A. will participate in two virtual international events of outstanding importance in the animal production industry in the United States. Specifically, in the 2021 ASAS-CSAS-SSASAS, which will take place from July 14 to 17, studies related to the use of intestinal conditioner pronutrients to promote intestinal welfare in broilers will be presented. On the other hand, at the 2021 AAAP Virtual Annual Meeting, Biovet will present studies related to the use of an effective natural antimicrobial effective to reduce the microbial load in laying hens in Peru.
Intestinal conditioner pronutrients and their relationship with intestinal welfare in poultry farming in 2021 ASAS-CSAS-SSASAS
During the first virtual event, 2021 ASAS-CSAS-SSASAS Annual Meeting & Trade Show, Dr. Alejandra Ruiz will present a poster detailing the results of a trial carried out in Colombia on broilers using intestinal conditioner pronutrients (product marketed as Alquernat Nebsui). The results show how the addition of the product in feed improves the state of the digestive mucosa, which leads to greater resistance to infections.
The talk will take place on July 15 from 7 to 8:15 a.m. (EST) in online format. The event is organized by the American Society of Animal Science (ASAS), an entity dedicated to the application and dissemination of scientific knowledge related to the care and responsible use of animals in favor of human and animal health and their welfare. This event, which is organized annually, this year will take place at the Kentucky International Convention Center, Louisville, Kentucky.

Alquermold Natural to reduce the microbial load in laying hens
In the second virtual event, 2021 AAAP Virtual Annual Meeting, on August 2, in addition to a conference on the same topic, a poster will be presented that addresses the benefits of using Biovet SA’s natural preservative, Alquermold Natural, to reduce the microbial load in laying hens in Peru.
The poster details the results of the trial and how this natural preservative, which contains cimenol ring, acts as an intestinal biocide promoting the balance of the digestive flora and preventing the growth of Salmonella, E. coli, Clostridium and Campylobacter, among others. A control and reduction of these microorganisms avoids contamination of the eggs, which has a positive impact on public health.
