The State of Sonora was also visited during the trip

In February a technical and commercial team of Biovet S.A. travelled to Mexico to participate at the XXVI Cycle of conference organized annually by Asociación de Médicos Veterinarios Especialistas en Cerdos de los Altos de Jalisco (AMVECAJ).

AMVECAJ is consolidated as one of the most important Mexican exhibitions in pig sector. It is annually held in Tepatitlan de los Morelos in Jalisco which is an important state in the production of protein of animal origin because it concentrates 30% of pork production and 50% of egg production in the country. In this edition, Dr. German Bertsch, veterinarian of Biovet S.A., met with the main producing companies in the region.

Visit to Sonora, an important location in animal production

Dr. Bertsh also travelled to Sonora State where he met with important companies of poultry and pig farming, together with Pharmablend, distributor of Biovet in the area. This area stands out for its animal production where pig, poultry and beef production predominate.

In addition, the region is also characterized by its aquaculture production, sector in which Biovet is conduction new research and trials. Among them, it stands out the one with immunoestimulants pronutrients.

The use of this product, marketed under the name Alquernat Immuplus, demonstrate that improve the immunes system and has a positive impact on production parameters.

Conference about the control of aflatoxin in milk

Finally, Dr. Bertsh visited Dairy Production Association in Valle de Yaqui where a conference was given about the control of aflatoxin M1 in milk through the administration of Alquerfeed Antitox. This talk presented a trial carried out in Iowa State University with the objective of evaluate the reduction in aflatoxin (AF) absorption upon feeding with Alquerfeed Antitox (with Silicoglycidol), so it could prevent absorption by binding AF in the digestive tract.

The results of this tiral shown that the use of the Biovet mycotoxin binder is an effective strategy to mitigate aflatoxin contamination in dairy cattle.

The talk was very popular among the producers of the Valle de Yaqui as it is presented as an effective natural alternative to comply with the requirements indicated by the law in Mexico.
