Biovet S.A, a manufacturer of additives of botanical source, has recently received approval for the registration of the brands Biovet, Alquermold Natural (natural preservative) and Alquernat Nebsui (intestinal conditioner pronutrients) in the US. With more than 30 years of experience improving production and health parameters, Biovet S.A. has been working for more than 8 years with its mycotoxin binders in the North American country. This fact is now reinforced by the incorporation of the natural preservative and the intestinal conditioner pronutrients.

Alquermold Natural, in premix and oral solution, is composed of natural preservatives with bactericide and fungicide activity for raw materials and feed. They combine an active principle called cimenol ring with citric acid, which interferes with cellular metabolism and allows cimenol ring going into the pathogenic cells.

The cimenol ring is a phenolic compound, common in aromatic plants, traditionally used for their preservative properties. Plants such as Thymus vulgaris, Origanum majorana, Origanum vulgare, Mentha piperita, Salvia officinalis, etc.

It is active against bacteria, fungi and yeasts: in the case of bacteria, it causes the immediate expulsion of cellular contents to the medium, due to the perforation of the bacterial membrane, while its effect against fungi and yeasts is that in addition to drill the cell wall, inhibits the biosynthesis of ergosterol, which is the most important sterol in the fungal cell membrane.

They also work as intestinal biocides, promoting equilibrium in the balance of the digestive flora, preventing the growth of Salmonella, E. coli, Clostridium and Staphylococcus, among others. In addition, studies show that it does not affect beneficial bacteria.

For its part, Alquernat Nebsui, in premix and liquid format, contains intestinal conditioner pronutrients (natural extracts of plants). The advantages of using products based on this type of pronutrients are: they stimulate the regeneration of enterocytes; they control the growth of pathogens in the intestine; they improve intestinal absorption and they can substitute or complement the antibiotic growth promoters.
