In mid-May, a Biovet S.A. representative made a business visit to Taiwan. At the meetings, the new products developed and marketed by Biovet were presented and existing business relationships were promoted.

Taiwan‘s poultry production is continually increasing, forecast to reach 767,410 metric tons by 2026. Over the past 55 years, production has increased an average of 2.2% each year.

With a very hot and humid subtropical climate, mycotoxins are a year-round problem in Taiwan, with more prevalence in the summer months.

Therefore, Biovet S.A.’s mycotoxin binders, Alquerfeed Antitox, Alquerfeed Binmold and Alquerfeed Asinol, are very successful in the Taiwanese market. The base of the three binders is Sylicoglycidol, the first molecule patented in the world, in 1988.

A new product with potential in Taiwan, Alquerfeed Diatom, is composed of specific types of diatoms from the genera Thalassiosira and Actinoptychus, which undergo an activation process to improve their absorption capacity. The slowing down of intestinal transit increases the retention time of feed in the digestive tract, for better digestion of food and improved absorption of nutrients. The inclusion of Alquerfeed Diatom in animal diets is effective in improving performance results (feed conversion rate and efficiency index), nutrient utilization and for animal welfare.
