The talk will be presented during <strong>the International Poultry Scientific Forum (IPSF),<\/strong> where information on environmental management, nutrition, physiology, pathology, processing and products, and avian diseases will also be presented.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Alquerfeed Diatom to regulate intestinal transit in broilers<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Intestinal rapid transit<\/strong> is a frequent problem on farms, which gives rise to the presence of partially undigested feed in feces and liquid droppings. It causes the feed not to remain long enough in the intestine for proper digestion and absorption of nutrients. As a consequence, the productive parameters and the health of the animals are getting worse. Indirectly, they worsen litter quality, a predisposing factor for various diseases.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Activated diatoms<\/strong> have the ability to <strong>reduce the speed of intestinal transit<\/strong>, preventing the problems derived from this situation and, at the same time, improving the use of nutrients, the consistency of the feces and the productive parameters.<\/p>\n<p>In a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.veterinariadigital.com\/en\/post_blog\/use-of-activated-diatoms-for-the-regulation-of-intestinal-transit-in-broilers\/\">trial<\/a><\/strong> carried out at the experimental farm of the Universidad Cient\u00edfica del Sur, it was shown that, with the use of <strong>activated diatoms<\/strong>, it was possible to <strong>slow down intestinal transit<\/strong>, increasing the permanence time of the food by <strong>16 minutes<\/strong>. This <strong>made it possible to avoid rapid transit and improve the digestibility of the different components of the diet.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The improvement in <strong>productive performance was 92 g more per bird<\/strong> with a <strong>4% better feed conversion rate<\/strong>.
