{"id":59077,"date":"2022-08-08T08:26:07","date_gmt":"2022-08-08T06:26:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/biovet-alquermes.com\/biovet-and-ifta-usa-participate-in-the-annual-meeting-of-psa-and-aaap\/"},"modified":"2024-04-22T12:26:15","modified_gmt":"2024-04-22T10:26:15","slug":"biovet-and-ifta-usa-participate-in-the-annual-meeting-of-psa-and-aaap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biovet-alquermes.com\/en\/2022\/08\/08\/biovet-and-ifta-usa-participate-in-the-annual-meeting-of-psa-and-aaap\/","title":{"rendered":"Biovet and IFTA USA participate in the annual meeting of PSA and AAAP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-13355 size-full\" title=\"El Dr. Felipe Mendy present\u00f3 una conferencia sobre el control natural de Eimeria sp y Clostrdium perfringens.\" src=\"https:\/\/biovet-alquermes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-08-03-at-9.12.14-AM-1.jpeg\" alt=\"El Dr. Felipe Mendy present\u00f3 una conferencia sobre el control natural de Eimeria sp y Clostrdium perfringens.\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>During the month of July and the beginning of August, representatives of <strong>Biovet S.A. and IFTA USA Inc<\/strong> participated in the annual meeting of the <strong><a href=\"mailto:https:\/\/poultryscience.org\/PSA-Annual-Meeting\">Poultry Science Association<\/a><\/strong> (PSA) and the <strong><a href=\"mailto:https:\/\/www.aaap.info\/2022-annual-meeting\">American Association of Avian Pathologists<\/a> <\/strong>(AAAP) held in San Antonio and Philadelphia.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Felipe Mendy, IFTA USA veterinarian, presented a conference that addressed the efficacy of <strong>Alquernat Coneb and Alquermold Natural for the natural control of <em>Eimeria sp a<\/em>nd <em>Clostrdium perfringens<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>These agents are two of the main ones that affect global poultry production and mixed contamination is very common.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Alquernat Coneb and Alquermold Natural to promote and enhance intestinal welfare in poultry farming<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In the trial presented, the efficacy of Alquernat Coneb, a product based on <strong><a href=\"mailto:https:\/\/biovet-alquermes.com\/en\/producto\/alquernat-coneb-p-y-l\/\">intestinal conditioner and optimizer pronutrients<\/a><\/strong>, was demonstrated. Alquernat Coneb, developed by Biovet S.A., <strong>stimulates the local immune system of the digestive tract and promotes the regeneration of the intestinal epithelium<\/strong> and the absorption of nutrients, with the consequent improvement of the digestive processes. With these effects at the digestive level, the birds <strong>break the reproductive cycle of the coccidia<\/strong> thanks to a better physiological state of their local immunity. The product can replace chemical coccidiostats and ionophores or be combined with them in <em>shuttle<\/em> or <em>on top<\/em> programs.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, <strong>Alquermold Natural<\/strong>, based on the synergy of the cimenol ring and citric acid, <strong>has a powerful effectiveness as a microbicide<\/strong>, allowing the control of <em>Clostridium perfringens<\/em> outbreaks that cause an imbalance in the intestinal microbiota of birds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Both are natural products that do not create resistance<\/strong>, do not require a withdrawal period and do not leave residues. Its use allows birds to maintain a good intestinal status, which has a positive impact on their productive performance.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-13356 size-full\" title=\"El Dr. Felipe Mendy present\u00f3 una conferencia sobre el control natural de Eimeria sp y Clostrdium perfringens.\" src=\"https:\/\/biovet-alquermes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/1657871003852.jpg\" alt=\"El Dr. Felipe Mendy present\u00f3 una conferencia sobre el control natural de Eimeria sp y Clostrdium perfringens.\" width=\"964\" height=\"808\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Results<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The results showed that the batches with <strong>Alquernat Coneb and Alquermold Natural<\/strong> managed to <strong>improve body weight<\/strong> (+39g. and +67g.) and <strong>improved feed conversion rate<\/strong> (1.5% and 2.5%, respectively). <strong>The oocyst count in these batches was also significantly lower<\/strong> (about 70% lower).<\/p>\n<p>In conclusion, the use of Alquernat Coneb proved to be effective for the natural control of <em>Eimeria sp.<\/em> since it strengthens the local immune system of the intestine by fighting protozoan infestations. In addition, in cases of mixed contamination with <em>Clostridium perfringens<\/em>, the use of Alquermold Natural is recommended.<\/p>\n<p>The combination of both products has been shown to be
