{"id":58262,"date":"2021-07-05T07:23:54","date_gmt":"2021-07-05T05:23:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/biovet-alquermes.com\/effect-of-alquermold-si-in-broilers-infected-with-salmonella-infantis\/"},"modified":"2024-04-22T12:20:58","modified_gmt":"2024-04-22T10:20:58","slug":"effect-of-alquermold-si-in-broilers-infected-with-salmonella-infantis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biovet-alquermes.com\/en\/2021\/07\/05\/effect-of-alquermold-si-in-broilers-infected-with-salmonella-infantis\/","title":{"rendered":"Effect of Alquermold SI in broilers infected with Salmonella infantis"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-12096 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/biovet-alquermes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Noticia-Simposium-II-Ingles-1.jpg\" alt=\"Effect of Alquermold SI in broilers infected with Salmonella infantis\" width=\"897\" height=\"600\" \/>The natural antimicrobial from Biovet S.A. was presented at the XXXV\u00a0Biovet\u00a0International Symposium<\/h2>\n<p>Last Thursday, June 17, 2021, at the <strong>XXXV Biovet International Symposium<\/strong>, Dr. Connie Gallardo, professor at the Universidad Cient\u00edfica del Sur (Lima, Peru), presented <strong>a trial on the effect of Alquermold SI in broilers infected with <em>Salmonella infantis<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In this edition, the Symposium was entitled <strong>\u2018Intestinal Welfare and Food Safety\u2019<\/strong>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.veterinariadigital.com\/en\/articulos\/importance-of-salmonellosis-as-a-zoonosis\/\"><em>Salmonella infantis<\/em><\/a> is one of the most common bacteria in broiler farms and with the highest resistance to antibiotics. It is a <strong>zoonotic microorganism<\/strong>, for this reason, it is essential that poultry farms maintain prevention systems to avoid contamination of poultry products for human consumption.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, Biovet S.A. has developed a <a href=\"https:\/\/biovet-alquermes.com\/en\/linea-conservantes-en\/\">natural antimicrobial<\/a> marketed as Alquermold SI. The product <strong>has a powerful bactericide effect<\/strong> and is specially <strong>designed to reduce <em>Salmonella<\/em> loads in the digestive tract<\/strong>. It contains active ingredients that have been shown to be effective against the zoonotic variety <em>Salmonella infantis<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Alquermold SI, the effective product for the control of <em>Salmonella infantis<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Specifically, at the Symposium, Dr. Connie Gallardo presented <strong>an experimental trial<\/strong>, carried out by the Universidad Cient\u00edfica del Sur in collaboration with Biovet SA, in which broilers were used to control the presence of <em>Salmonella infantis<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The administration of Alquermold SI, <strong>compared to the use of formaldehyde<\/strong>, has shown an improvement in the productive parameters such as weight (+51.5 g \/ bird), the feed conversion rate (improvement of 3.4%), mortality (100% reduction) and batch homogeneity (+9.2%). These improvements are due to a better balance of the digestive microflora, which is observed in a reduction of the moisture in the feaces and of the lesions at the digestive level.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Alquermold SI controls the proliferation of <em>Salmonella infantis<\/em> in birds, <strong>a bacterium that represents a danger to food safety<\/strong>. The study has shown that the birds in the batch supplemented with Alquermold SI <strong>obtained negative results in the digestive analysis for <em>Salmonella infantis<\/em>,<\/strong> while in the batch with formaldehyde this microorganism was isolated.<\/p>\n<p>Definitely, Alquermold SI has proven to be <strong>much more effective in the control of <em>Salmonella infantis<\/em> than the use of formaldehyde <\/strong>and it is postulated as a natural tool to promote intestinal welfare and food safety.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last Thursday, June 17, 2021, at the
