The study evaluated the use of intestinal optimizer and conditioner pronutrients for the prevention of avian coccidiosis<\/h2>\n

Last Thursday, May 19th, 2021, Biovet S.A. presented the trial ‘Use of Alquernat Coneb alone and in combination with coccidiostats in experimentally infested broilers’<\/strong> at the North Central Avian Disease Conference<\/a>, an event included in the 2021 MPF virtual convention<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Avian coccidiosis<\/a> is a parasitic disease caused by the genus protozoa Eimeria<\/em><\/strong> that causes significant economic and productive losses in poultry farming<\/strong>. These parasites mainly affect the intestine, which causes a reduction in the absorption of nutrients, diarrhea and significant production losses.<\/p>\n

Alquernat Coneb, the natural alternative against coccidiosis<\/strong><\/h3>\n

On this occasion, Dr. J\u00falia Pi\u00e9, a veterinarian from Biovet S.A., presented this study that evaluates the use of Alquernat Coneb<\/a> for the control and prevention of coccidiosis in broilers<\/strong>. Alquernat Coneb is a product developed by Biovet S.A. that contains intestinal conditioner and optimizer pronutrients.<\/strong><\/p>\n

These types of pronutrients are active molecules of natural origin that physiologically stimulate the local immune system of the intestine. In this way, the birds break the reproductive cycle of the parasites<\/strong> on their own. The product can replace chemical and ionophores coccidiostats<\/strong> or can be combined with them in shuttle<\/em> or on top<\/em> programs. Besides, it is a natural product that does not create resistance, does not require a withdrawal period and does not leave residues.<\/p>\n

Alquernat Coneb improves productive parameters in poultry farming<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Specifically, the trial has evaluated the efficiency of Alquernat Coneb alone and together with salinomycin, and it was compared with the use of conventional coccidiostats (diclazuril and narasin).<\/p>\n

Alquernat Coneb, whether it is administered as a single product or combined with salinomycin, obtained similar or superior results to the use of conventional coccidiostats.<\/p>\n

More exactly, the weight improved between 152 and 87 grams more than the control batch, and the conversion index between 4.5% and 2.8%, depending on the administration program used in each batch. Survival rate was superior in the batches with Alquernat Coneb<\/strong> and salinomycin.<\/p>\n

Lower feces oocyst counts with Alquernat Coneb<\/h3>\n

All supplemented batches obtained significantly lower feces oocyst counts than the infected control, with reductions of between 63 and 83%, indicating that all additives are effective to slow down the excretion of oocysts.<\/p>\n

This trial shows that Alquernat Coneb is a natural additive effective for the prevention of coccidiosis<\/strong> and that it is very versatile, since it can be combined on top<\/em> or in shuttle<\/em> programs with other complementary products.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
