Biovet S.A. Laboratories,<\/strong> manufacturer of natural additives for animal nutrition, turns 35 years. In this piece of news, we highlight the events that took place between 1988 and 1990. Among them, it is worth emphasizing: the development of the first patent with the molecule Silicoglycidol<\/strong>, the design of the first mycotoxin binder<\/strong> and Dr. Borrell\u2019s admissions to the Spanish Royal Academy of Veterinary Sciences.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 1988, Biovet began the research on mycotoxin binders\u2019 field.<\/strong> As a result of it, the Company developed the molecule Silycoglycidol<\/strong>, a global innovation which Biovet patented the same year. Thanks to this molecule, Biovet achieved the design of its first mycotoxin binder marketed as Alquerfeed Antitox<\/strong>. With that product, mycotoxins go through the intestinal tract without causing irritation in the intestinal walls -enteritis\u2013 and without being absorbed \u2013 mycotoxicosis.<\/p>\n

In 1988 Reus hosted the 26th Poultry Symposium of the Spanish Section of the World Association of Scientific Poultry<\/strong>, where Dr. Borrell gave a lecture about \u2018Preservatives in raw materials and animal feed: state and community legislation\u2019. Besides, he also presented the use of Alquermold Liquid as a substitute for antibiotic growth promoters.<\/p>\n

Commercial and dissemination wise, Biovet participated in conferences and congresses with the aim of explaining the research and development carried out by the company. In order to do so, in 1988, participated in the EAVPT Congress (European Association Vet Pharmacology Therapeutics) in Budapest.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 1989, Dr. Borrell became Academic in the Spanish Royal Academy of Veterinary Sciences.<\/strong> A year later, Dr. Borrell gave the conference to entry the Academy. That lecture gave a slight idea about the researches that led to the creation of Alquerfeed Antitox<\/strong> and addressed issues about mycotoxins as well as injuries and diseases they cause.<\/p>\n

Dr. Borrell became academic at the Royal Academic of Veterinary Sciences, 1989<\/em><\/p>\n

Between 1988 and 1989, the Course on Microbiology and Food Hygiene<\/strong> took place. Dr. Borrell participated in two of its conferences: one about Microbiology on grain; and the second, about the main toxic contaminants in food and factors that influence their development.<\/p>\n

Finally, in 1989, again Dr. Borrell participated in the 3rd Poultry National Congress held in Venezuela<\/strong>, where Dr. Borrell held the conference \u2018Poultry diseases of food origin produced by fungi, bacteria and their toxins\u2019.<\/p>\n
