The third session of the course, led by\u00a0<strong>Dr. Lilian Chea,<\/strong>\u00a0focused on:\u00a0<strong>diseases in poultry farms of the Peruvian coast, diagnosis of pathologies, salmonellosis and alternatives to antibiotic growth promoters.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thus, Dr. David D\u00edez, of Biovet S.A. presented in his master class, entitled\u00a0<strong>\u201cDiseases prevalent in poultry farms of the Peruvian coast: control and prevention\u201d,<\/strong>\u00a0a map of the main pathologies relating to the climate of the area mentioned above. Dr. D\u00edez began with the \u201cwidespread mycotoxicosis, dwelling on the importance of Avian Infectious Toxic Hepatoenteritis in the region, without forgetting the relevant viral pathologies such as infectious bronchitis\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, PhD. Cristina Latasa, of Recombina, gave a presentation entitled:<strong>\u00a0\u201cIdentification and diagnosis of diseases in birds: PCR (Polymerase chain reaction) and bacteriological analysis\u201d.<\/strong>\u00a0The researcher addressed the veterinary diagnosis, the types of samples for analysis, diagnostic techniques and the diagnosis of avian pathologies.<\/p>\n<p>With regard to diagnostic techniques, he distinguished three types: first,\u00a0<strong>conventional isolation and culture techniques<\/strong>; then,\u00a0<strong>immunological<\/strong>\u00a0and, finally,<strong>\u00a0molecular<\/strong>. It also divided the ways of stablising the diagnosis, depending on the organ affected in:\u00a0<strong>respiratory, digestive and musculoskeletal pathologies.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One of the most specific parts of the course was the explanation by the researcher of the University of Sao Paulo, PhD. Liliana Revolledo, who highlighted the\u00a0<strong>\u201cLatest advances in Avian Salmonellosis\u201d.<\/strong>\u00a0She argued: \u201cHouse management and the characteristics of bacteria of\u00a0<em>Salmonella<\/em>genus may favor their transmission and persistence. Therefore, the identification of the risk factors and persistence allow defining the strategies and appropriate actions to establish a control program or prevention\u201d. And she concluded: \u201cThe action plans must be prepared using real information, so that their evaluation and subsequent adjustments can be effectively implemented.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The theoretical sessions of the course ended with the master class by Eng. Carlos Caballero Monta\u00f1ez, specialist in poultry production, who emphasized\u00a0<strong>\u201cAlternatives to the growth<\/strong><strong>promoters (AGP) in poultry\u201d.<\/strong>\u00a0He highlighted concepts such as:\u00a0<strong>probiotics, pronutrients, acids and biosecurity.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>PRACTICE IN NECROSIAS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To finish the course, a practical class was held on the \u201c<strong>Regulated methods in the realization of necropsies and dichotomous keys<\/strong>\u201d developed by Dr. David D\u00edez and Julia Pi\u00e9 of Biovet S.A. in collaboration with representatives of the Scientific University.<\/p>\n<p>The course was organized by the\u00a0<strong>Faculty of Veterinary Sciences of the Scientific University of the South (<em>Cienf\u00edfica)<\/em><\/strong>, located in Lima (Peru) and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/biovet-alquermes.com\/en\/home-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Biovet S.A.<\/strong><\/a>, with the support of Adivet, Alquermes de M\u00e9xico and Veterinaria Digital.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-9166 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/biovet-alquermes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Curso-Avicl-768x512-1-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"768\" height=\"512\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The third session of the III International Poultry Course, held in UCSUR (Lima) was led by Dr. Lilian Chea and it was focused on: diseases in poultry farms of the Peruvian coast, diagnosis of pathologies, salmonellosis and alternatives to antibiotic growth promoters.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":33633,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[1555,1918],"tags":[1933,1930,1929,1919,1920],"class_list":["post-56466","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","category-poultry","tag-additives-for-animal-nutrition","tag-collaboration","tag-conference","tag-south-america","tag-symposia-biovet"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 -
