{"id":56352,"date":"2018-11-20T11:51:44","date_gmt":"2018-11-20T10:51:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/biovet-alquermes.com\/evaluation-of-the-biocidal-efficacy-of-alquermold-natural-in-fish-meal-with-salmonella\/"},"modified":"2024-04-22T12:11:04","modified_gmt":"2024-04-22T10:11:04","slug":"evaluation-of-the-biocidal-efficacy-of-alquermold-natural-in-fish-meal-with-salmonella","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biovet-alquermes.com\/en\/2018\/11\/20\/evaluation-of-the-biocidal-efficacy-of-alquermold-natural-in-fish-meal-with-salmonella\/","title":{"rendered":"Evaluation of the biocidal efficacy of Alquermold Natural in fish meal with salmonella"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-9058 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/biovet-alquermes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/387441dcd50e119d57bd49aafacfbf313f66b5f4-1-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<h5>INTRODUCTION<\/h5>\n<p>In a trial performed in Ukraine a sample of fish meal was analyzed to check if it complied with the microbiological specifications for food and feed safety, which are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Total bacterial count (TBC): &lt;5&#215;105 CFU\/g<\/li>\n<li>Clostridium perfringens: absence in 0.01 g<\/li>\n<li>Coliforms: absence in 1 g<\/li>\n<li><em>Salmonella spp.<\/em>: absence in 1 g<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>First analysis results (before the addition of the natural preservative)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Results showed that the sample was contaminated with salmonella (presence of Salmonella spp. in 25 g of sample).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Addition of the natural preservative<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Alquermold Natural, a broad-spectrum microbiocidal and natural preservative,<\/strong> was added to the sample at 5 kg\/ton. This dose allows to have a final concentration of 0.5 kg of natural preservative per ton in compound feed (which contains 10% fish meal).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Second analysis results<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Results showed that the sample complied with all the microbiological requirements.<\/p>\n<h5>CONCLUSIONS<\/h5>\n<p>The <strong>natural preservative, Alquermold Natural,<\/strong> eliminated salmonella from the sample of fish meal, which states that it is an effective biocide for raw materials.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>This natural preservative, manufactured by Biovet S.A., is commercially available with the name <a href=\"https:\/\/biovet-alquermes.com\/en\/producto\/alquermold-natural-p-and-l\/\">Alquermold Natural<\/a>.<\/strong><\/h5>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In a trial performed in Ukraine a sample of fish meal was analyzed to check if it complied with the microbiological specifications.
