{"id":56141,"date":"2018-09-25T10:33:00","date_gmt":"2018-09-25T08:33:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/biovet-alquermes.com\/effect-of-pronutrients-in-turkeys\/"},"modified":"2024-04-22T12:10:15","modified_gmt":"2024-04-22T10:10:15","slug":"effect-of-pronutrients-in-turkeys","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biovet-alquermes.com\/en\/2018\/09\/25\/effect-of-pronutrients-in-turkeys\/","title":{"rendered":"Use of Alquernat Coneb, intestinal conditioner and optimizer, in turkeys"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8795 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/biovet-alquermes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/7c3b6509478c74ab298a0ec8ee7d35d23959afa9-1-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>During this trial, conducted in the \u200b\u200bCundinamarca region (Colombia) in 2016, a<strong>\u00a0liquid product rich in intestinal conditioner and optimizer pronutrients was evaluated for the control of histomoniasis in turkeys.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Due to the high susceptibility of the turkey to this disease and the possibility of an outbreak during the entire growth stage of the animal, the study was performed during the 18 weeks expected for the growth of the turkeys, whether they were intended for fattening or reproduction.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BATCHES<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>TREATMENT BATCH (11.000 animals): Fed with basal diet and<strong>\u00a0intestinal conditioner and optimizer liquid pronutrients at a dose of 1 ml\/L mixed with the drinking water during the entire growth stage.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>CONTROL BATCH (11.000 animals): Fed only with the basal diet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>RESULTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Chart 1 shows how mortality began to increase in the control group during week 5, mortality peak appeared from week 6 to 9, as usual in histomoniasis, reaching 12% of cumulated mortality in the 10<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0week of life of the turkeys, compared to the 1% cumulated mortality in the treated batch by the same time.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the trial the cumulative mortality difference between the two batches was of 16,2 points, which represented a reduction of 81,3%, a total of 1.782 turkeys (Chart 2).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8793 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/biovet-alquermes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Pronutrients-in-turkeys_Veterinaria-Digital-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"674\" height=\"288\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Chart 1: Weekly mortality (%) until week 10.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8794 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/biovet-alquermes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Pronutrients-in-turkeys_Veterinaria-Digital_2-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"548\" height=\"282\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Chart 2: Cumulated mortality (%) at the end of the trial.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>CONCLUSIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Batch treated with<strong>\u00a0intestinal conditioner and optimizer liquid pronutrients managed to reduce mortality by 81,3% and did not show symptoms of histomoniasis, which at the same time decreased the use of antimicrobials.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>These intestinal conditioner and intestinal optimizer liquid pronutrients\u00a0<\/strong>are commercially available under the name\u00a0<strong>Alquernat Coneb L, development and manufactured by\u00a0<\/strong>Biovet S.A Laboratories.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During this trial, conducted in the \u200b\u200bCundinamarca region (Colombia) in 2016, a\u00a0liquid product rich in intestinal conditioner and optimizer pronutrients was evaluated for the control of histomoniasis in turkeys.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":33105,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[1555,1918,2111],"tags":[1932],"class_list":["post-56141","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","category-poultry","category-technonews-en","tag-turkey"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 -
