INTRODUCTION<\/strong>
\nTwo different field trials were performed in a Colombian poultry company during the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018.<\/strong>\u00a0This company used\u00a0two premix cores (A and B),<\/strong>\u00a0obtaining unequal results:\u00a0batch using core A obtained a 6 points superior productivity index (PI) compared to batch using core B.<\/strong>\u00a0This last group also suffered from rapid intestinal transit.<\/p>\n

These were reasons to perform different trials\u00a0to check the effect that Alquermold Natural, a natural preservative (with cimenol ring) and Alquernat Nebsui, intestinal conditioner pronutrients, could have on productive parameters<\/strong>\u00a0in batch consuming core B,\u00a0first<\/strong>, using these natural products\u00a0\u201cON TOP\u201d and after, as substitutes from chemical Antibiotic Growth Promoters (AGPs)<\/strong>\u00a0that contained the core.<\/p>\n

EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN<\/strong>
\nDuring the starter period (1-21 days), both batches used core B, until the\u00a0fattening stage\u00a0<\/strong>started, when control batch began consuming core A and treatment batch consumed\u00a0core B, with the natural preservative (with cimenol ring) and natural conditioner pronutrients<\/strong>, both\u00a0mixed with the feed at a dose of 0.5kg\/T.<\/strong>\u00a0In the first trial, both natural products were administered ON TOP and in the second one as substitutes of AGPs.<\/p>\n

Litter, faeces and feet conditions were evaluated weekly. Necropsies were also performed to random animals to assess digestive tract status. At the end of the trial, results of productive parameters were calculated.<\/p>\n

RESULTS<\/strong>
\nAs seen in the chart (Chart 1),\u00a0all productive parameters (weight, feed intake and FCR) were improved in the treated batch.<\/strong>\u00a0Intestinal transit also improved,<\/strong>\u00a0since it was confirmed by a better consistence of faeces, and improved litter and feet conditions.<\/p>\n

CONCLUSION<\/strong>
\nInclusion of a natural preservative (with cimenol ring) and an intestinal conditioner pronutrients<\/em>\u00a0to the premix core B\u00a0showed that it could reach or even got better results than the core A and allowed the replacement of Antibiotic Growth Promoters.\u00a0<\/strong>These products also have as\u00a0other advantages that they do not need withdrawal period,\u00a0<\/strong>they leave\u00a0no residues in birds\u2019 tissues<\/strong>\u00a0and do\u00a0not create microbial resistance.<\/strong><\/p>\n
