Zycox vs coccidiosis compared to chemical coccidiostats and to the vaccine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/biovet-alquermes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/9999999.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>INTRODUCTION<\/strong><br \/>\nThe ability of the intestinal optimizer pronutrients, <strong>Alquernat Zycox, to prevent coccidiosis was evaluated<\/strong>\u00a0in males of the Castellana negra breed, a laying breed, in comparison with chemical coccidiostats and a vaccine against coccidia. The study was carried out in two parts: first, animals were naturally infested and, secondly, animals were artificially infested with coccidia.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3>1.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Natural infestation<\/h3>\n<p><strong>MATERIAL AND METHODS<\/strong><br \/>\nThe trial was carried out in farms located in Soria, Spain, using males of the Castellana negra breed that were distributed in three batches in the following way:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Batch 1:<\/strong>\u00a0Chemical coccidiostat<\/li>\n<li><strong>B.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Batch 2:<\/strong>\u00a0Intestinal optimizer pronutrients<\/li>\n<li><strong>C.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Batch 3:<\/strong>\u00a0Vaccine against coccidiosis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Feed was administered &#8220;<em>ad libitum<\/em>&#8221; using the same feed for all animals. Live weight was controlled from week 4 to week 13.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RESULTS<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Average live weight (g)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-7782\" src=\"https:\/\/biovet-alquermes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Pronutrientes-optimizadores-intestinales-Soria-Veterinaria-Digital_1-1-2-300x236.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"236\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>CONCLUSIONS OF THE TRIAL WITH NATURAL INFESTATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Batch 1 (chemical coccidiostat: monensin) had the lowest weight,<\/strong>\u00a0except in the last two weeks (12-13), when the weight slightly exceeded that of the vaccine group.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The most significant differences appeared from week 12.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Batch 2,\u00a0<\/strong>corresponding to\u00a0<strong>intestinal optimizer pronutrients, showed weights substantially higher\u00a0<\/strong>than in the other groups.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>2.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Artificial infestation<\/h3>\n<p><strong>MATERIAL AND METHODS<\/strong><br \/>\nThe trial was carried out in farms in Soria, Spain, using males of the Castellana negra breed, that were distributed in three batches in the following way:<\/p>\n<p><strong>A.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Batch 1:<\/strong>\u00a0Chemical coccidiostat<br \/>\n<strong>B.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Batch 2:<\/strong>\u00a0Intestinal optimizer pronutrients<br \/>\n<strong>C.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Batch 3:<\/strong>\u00a0Vaccine against coccidiosis<\/p>\n<p>When the animals were 9 weeks old, an experimental infection with Eimeria oocysts was induced, composed of the following proportions:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0100.000\u00a0<em>Eimeria tenella\u00a0<\/em>oocysts<br \/>\n&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0100.000\u00a0<em>Eimeria acervulina\u00a0<\/em>oocysts<br \/>\n&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0150.000\u00a0<em>Eimeria maxima\u00a0<\/em>oocysts<\/p>\n<p><strong>EVALUATED PARAMETERS<\/strong><br \/>\nThe severity of intestinal lesions caused by coccidia was assessed on a scale from 0 to 4. 0 for the mildest lesions, 4 for the most severe ones.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RESULTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-7783\" src=\"https:\/\/biovet-alquermes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Pronutrientes-Soria-Resultados-Veterinaria-Digital-1-2-300x182.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"182\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-7785\" src=\"https:\/\/biovet-alquermes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Pronutrients-Soria-Intestinal-lesions-Veterinaria-Digital-2-300x293.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"293\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>CONCLUSIONS OF THE TRIAL WITH ARTIFICIAL INFESTATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Animals treated with i<strong>ntestinal optimizer pronutrients<\/strong>\u00a0of batch 2 and those vaccinated of batch 3, showed significantly\u00a0<strong>lower lesions scorew\u00a0<\/strong>compared to batch 1, corresponding to the monensin chemical coccidiostat.<\/li>\n<li>Therefore, it is logical to propose a\u00a0<strong>substitution of chemical coccidiostats for intestinal optimizers pronutrients, natural substances,<\/strong>\u00a0because:\n<ul>\n<li>Reduce the number of intestinal lesions and their severity.<\/li>\n<li>Help to achieve better weight.<\/li>\n<li>Prevent the appearance of residues in meat and does not interact with other products such as antibiotics or antioxidants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This product based on intestinal optimizer pronutrients, manufactured by Biovet S.A., is commercially available under the name\u00a0<strong>Alquernat Zycox.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In this trial the ability of Alquernat Zycox, intestinal optimizer pronutrients, was evaluated to prevent coccidiosis in males of the breed Castellana Negra, a breed of laying, in comparison with chemical coccidiostats and with the vaccine against coccidia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":30287,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[1555,1918,2111],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-54654","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","category-poultry","category-technonews-en"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Efficacy of A.
