A veterinary team of Biovet S.A. visited El Salvador to conduct training

A veterinary team from Biovet S.A. visited El Salvador in February to conduct training about the use of intestinal conditioner pronutrients in liquid. Specifically, about Alquernat Nebsui, a product based on pronutrients (of botanical origin), which can be used in all stages and throughout the whole lifetime of the animals, as a viable alternative to Antibiotic Growth Promoters (AGPs). Also, during the meeting the main avian pathologies and their possible solutions, were addressed.

Accordingly, during the training Dr. Francisco Giral, veterinarian of Biovet S.A., highlighted the need to implement solutions in liquid, as an appropriate solution for the reception of chickens. “Since its foundation Biovet S.A. has focused on the development of products that maintain both animal welfare and productivity parameters”, explained the veterinarian.

According to Giral, “This line of Biovet liquid products is based on pronutrients (natural extracts) and allows improving the physiological conditions of animals, from the first day of life and in situations of stress.” The reason is: “Under stress conditions animals do not ingest solids immediately, so it is better to receive them with intestinal conditioning products soluble in drinking water, which are a very effective way of administration, in critical stages such like the reception of birds.”

PRONUTRIENTS

On the other hand, the veterinarian emphasized the use of pronutrients. “Pronutrients are bioactive molecules present in the feed, which improve animal physiology by increasing gene expression (process by which the information contained in AND of the genes is transmitted into the formation of proteins). The organism, receiving an external stimulus as a nutrient, sends it to a specific biochemical receptor, which activates or deactivates a trigger responsible for DNA replication and generation of an active protein.”

The pronutrients are classified into 10 categories according to their area of action: intestinal mucosa conditioners, gut mucosa optimizers, hepato-regenerators, immune boosters, feed optimizers, anti-free-radicals, epithelial conditioners, pituitary conditioners, prebiotics and mineral metabolism conditioners.

Finally, the meeting concluded with a conference in which the main pathologies affecting the poultry sector and the solutions offered by Biovet S.A. Laboratories, were addressed.
